Keson was born and raised in Thailand, where she began her culinary career by helping her Mother prepare local specialties at their family’s restaurant. She later fulfilled a childhood dream by establishing her own restaurant in Ranong, Thailand, which unfortunately was destroyed in the 2004 Tsunami.
Undeterred by the loss of her business and fortune, Keson moved to Pittsburgh in 2005 to continue her culinary studies by assisting the head chef at Bangkok Balcony, subsequently becoming one of the main cooks at both Nicky’s Thai Kitchen and Smiling Banana Leaf.
Keson is now ready to rekindle her dream by establishing Red Orchid, an exotic 24-seat restaurant on Babcock Boulevard, where she is excited to offer authentic Thai comfort food. Along with her husband, Libor, and sister, Panchiwan, Keson combines a passion for using the freshest local produce with a lifetime of experience to bring authentic Thai cuisine (including homemade curries from the family’s prized recipe!) to Pittsburgh’s North Hills.
